Together We Grow

10am Sunday 8 March 2020. Mathew 22: 1-14. Hebrews 10:19-25.
In this sermon, John Reid talks about how, as God’s family, we can help each other to:
– Hold on to hope together:
by drawing near to God
through complete assurance of our faith
knowing God’s peace for everyday life.
– Spur each other on to good works.
– Keep meeting together.

All the difference in the world

9 February 2020 – John Reid commences a new series on what it means to do frontline ministry 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in our individual mission fields. The passage of 1 Peter 1 reminds us that God’s elect have been chosen according to God’s plan to grow his eternal kingdom. For the meantime, we are exiles living in this world and in the frontline in our communities.

Continue in the gospel through difficult days

26 January 2020 – John Reid preaches on 2 Timothy 3:1-17 where the Apostle Paul encourages Timothy to continue in what he has learned despite the society around him adopting and celebrating sinful ways. Hear Jesus as faithfully recorded in the scripture (both the old testament which points to Jesus and the new testament of which Paul’s letter became part of). Then Live Jesus despite the attempts of popular culture to reject God’s word and share Jesus lovingly, patiently and gently to those trapped in that culture of sin – where secular preaches what people want to hear and abandon truth.

Know the Word not words

10am Sunday 19 January 2020. Luke 17: 20-30. 2 Timothy 2: 14-26.

In this sermon on 2 Timothy 2: 14-26, “Know the Word not words”, John Reid talks about:
– Be careful who you listen to (v 14-19)
– Evaluate what you hear (v 14-19)
– What a faithful teacher looks like (v 15-26)
i. Unashamed worker (v 15-19)
ii. Clean Vessel (v 20-22)
iii. Jesus’ slave (v 23-26)
– Who is sufficient for these things (2 Corinthians 2: 16)

2 Timothy – Growing in Grace to teach others

12 January 2020 – John Reid preaches on 2 Timothy 2 to help us understand what the role of the Church is according to the bible. John introduces how Mona Vale Anglican will in 2020 seek to Live Jesus, Hear Jesus and Share Jesus by introducing an 8am prayer meeting each weekday starting in February, embarking on a daily bible reading program to read the whole bible in 2020 and focusing on discipleship.
