What the Church is

Romans 12:3-13

Philippians 1:3-11

  1. Christ-centred
“You become imitators of us and of the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 1:6).
  2. Hospitable
“Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling” (1 Peter 4:9).
  3. United
“Make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind” (Philippians 2:2).
  4. Redemptive
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35).
  5. Compassionate
“If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it” (1 Corinthians 12:26).
  6. Helpful
“All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need” (Acts 2:44-45).

“But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be” (1 Corinthians 12:18).
